Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret Savigny-lès-Beaune 2022

The wine
Intense deep ruby. Elegant and powerful on the nose, with morello cherries, blackcurrant, raspberries, wild strawberries and forest floor.
Savigny-lès-Beaune vineyards form a V either side of the Rhoin valley, and the aspect changes markedly from one arm to the other. Vincent Mongeard takes a pragmatic line on farming: he adopts many organic and biodynamic practices without seeking certification. Destemmed and cold macerated for 48 hours before fermentation.
