Mas La Mola Vi de Vila Priorat Blanco 2024

The wine
Deep straw yellow, intense on the nose with ripe apricot and an elegant flint character.
White Priorat is a rarity, the region being overwhelmingly red, and it is made largely from Garnacha Blanca on the same llicorella slate. Vi de Vila means village wine, a tier in the Priorat hierarchy that names the parish the fruit comes from. Priorat is a wild amphitheatre of terraced hillside in inland Catalonia, planted on llicorella, a black slate that splits and lets roots drive metres down for water. The region was almost abandoned before a handful of growers revived it in the 1990s.

Mas La Mola
View all Mas La Mola winesMas La Mola is a small, quality-focused estate in Priorat, one of Spain's most dramatic and revered wine regions. From steep, high-altitude terraces it crafts characterful reds and whites that speak clearly of their rugged home.
The vineyards sit on Priorat's famous licorella, the shattered slate soils that give the region's wines their distinctive minerality and depth. Old vines, low yields and careful, hands-on farming produce wines of concentration and precision.
The range showcases the region's classic grapes, from a powerful, mineral old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena red to a textured, saline white built around Grenache Blanc. Each carries Priorat's unmistakable stony intensity.
Bold yet balanced, deeply rooted in their terroir, the wines of Mas La Mola offer Priorat's raw, mineral magic in every glass.
