View all Les Marmandais winesLes Marmandais was formed in 2003 from the merger of two cooperatives either side of the Garonne: the Cave de Beaupuy on the right bank, founded in 1957, and the Cave de Cocumont on the left, founded in 1956.Vines have mattered economically here since the Gallo-Roman period, and in the Middle Ages Bordeaux merchants drew on Marmandais wine to meet export demand. The wines are bottled under the Terra Vallona label in the Comte Tolosan, the broad regional IGP covering most of the South West, where Bordeaux varieties grow alongside local grapes at prices Bordeaux left behind long ago.
