The wine

Nebro is Finca Villacreces's rare flagship, pure old-vine Tempranillo from a tiny riverside parcel. Made only in the finest years, it is a Ribera del Duero of profound depth.

Blackberry, dark cherry, violet and graphite meet cedar, spice and dark chocolate. The palate is powerful yet refined, with dense fruit, ripe tannins and an exceptionally long finish.

A wine for the cellar and the finest table. Serve at cool room temperature, decanted.

Finca Villacreces is one of the finest estates of Ribera del Duero, set on a bend of the Duero river in the heart of Spain's great red-wine region. Its vineyards lie within the famous golden mile, alongside legendary neighbours. The wines are among the most refined in the appellation.

Old-vine Tempranillo grows on stony, alluvial soils beside the river, sheltered by a protective pine forest. The harsh continental climate and low yields give deep, concentrated fruit. Farming is careful and increasingly organic.

The range runs from the acclaimed, great-value Pruno to the structured estate Ribera del Duero and the rare, old-vine flagship Nebro. Tempranillo leads throughout, aged in French oak for polish. Each is powerful yet elegant.
