Finca Flichman Misterio Malbec 2025
£10.95
The wine
Misterio is the entry Malbec of the range, made to be drunk young while the fruit is at its most vivid.
Malbec is Argentina signature grape though it originated in Cahors in south-west France, where it makes a darker and far more austere wine; altitude and sunlight transformed it here. Mendoza sits in the rain shadow of the Andes, a high desert dependent on meltwater irrigation, where altitude rather than latitude keeps the wines fresh. Finca Flichman was founded in 1873 and works rocky, well-drained plots around Barrancas in Mendoza, with higher sites at Tupungato in the Uco Valley.

Finca Flichman
View all Finca Flichman winesFinca Flichman is one of Argentina's historic wineries, founded in 1873 and rooted in the vineyards of Mendoza at the foot of the Andes. Over 150 years it has become a benchmark for characterful, well-priced Argentine wine. Malbec, the country's flagship grape, lies at its heart.
The estate draws on vineyards across Mendoza, from the warm plains to the high, cool sites of the Uco Valley. Altitude, intense sunlight and poor soils concentrate the fruit and lend freshness. Flichman farms with sustainability and precision in mind.
The range climbs from the everyday Tanguero and Misterio wines through the Caballero de la Cepa Reserve to the premium Dedicado bottlings from the Uco Valley. Malbec leads throughout, joined by Cabernet, Merlot and Chardonnay. Each tier offers real quality for the price.
Ripe, generous and sun-filled, Flichman's wines capture the spirit of Argentina. They are approachable, dependable and full of Andean character. This is Mendoza at its most rewarding.
