Faultline Sauvignon Blanc 2024
£10.95
The wine
Typical Marlborough notes of pea pods, gooseberry and asparagus with a fresh and herbaceous flavour. Straightforward, well made and priced to be opened without a second thought, which is exactly the point.
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc owes its passion fruit and gooseberry character to thiols, aromatic compounds the region's cool nights and long daylight hours produce in unusual concentration. Fermented cool in stainless steel with no oak, in the straightforward style that made the region famous.

Faultline
View all Faultline winesFaultline was created to offer Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc at a genuinely keen price without cutting the quality that makes the region worth buying.
The name is apt for New Zealand. The country sits astride the boundary between the Pacific and Australian plates, and the Wairau valley itself is defined by the Wairau Fault, part of the Marlborough fault system that runs the length of the region. The valley's free-draining stony soils are alluvial deposits laid down by rivers running off mountains that the same tectonic activity raised.
The wine is made in the classic regional style: cool fermentation in stainless steel, no oak, and bottled young to preserve the passion fruit, gooseberry and cut-grass character the region is known for.
