Far Mountain Fission Moon Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
£52.95
The wine
Fission is Far Mountain's mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon from the Moon Mountain District of Sonoma. High-elevation volcanic soils give it structure, freshness and depth.
Blackcurrant, blackberry and violet meet cedar, graphite and a hint of mountain herb. The palate is full yet fresh, with concentrated dark fruit, firm tannins and a long, mineral finish.
Superb with roast beef, lamb and mature cheese. Serve at cool room temperature, decanted.

Far Mountain
View all Far Mountain winesFar Mountain is a small, ambitious estate in the mountains of Sonoma County, California. Focused on high-elevation vineyards, it crafts characterful wines of real precision and freshness. Each bottling is named for a person or place close to the winery.
The vineyards sit on volcanic soils high above the valley floor, in sites such as the Moon Mountain District. Altitude and cool air give the wines structure, freshness and a sense of place. Farming is meticulous and yields are low.
The range is small and focused, led by a mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and an elegant Sonoma Valley Chardonnay. Both are made with a light touch and real attention to detail. They show a fresher, more restrained side of California.
Far Mountain's wines combine Californian ripeness with mountain freshness and finesse. They are pure, balanced and built to age. This is a boutique estate to watch.
