Dominique Morel Beaujolais-Villages 2025
£13.45
The wine
Bright ruby, with pronounced cherry perfume. The rounded palate is full of fresh, ripe red fruit.
Beaujolais-Villages covers 38 communes in the north of the region, a rung above generic Beaujolais and below the ten crus. Beaujolais is Gamay on granite, and the ten crus produce wines with far more structure than the light carbonic style the region is popularly known for. Cru Beaujolais carries no mention of Beaujolais on the label at all, which is why so few customers realise what they are buying. Dominique Morel farms 18 hectares across Beaujolais, planted on the pink granite that underlies the ten crus.

View all Dominique Morel winesIn the granite hills of Beaujolais, Dominique Morel crafts bright, honest Gamay with real charm. A grower with deep roots in the region, he works its celebrated crus and villages with care. The focus here is on pure, fruit-driven wines.
Careful farming and a light touch in the cellar preserve the perfume and freshness that make Beaujolais so joyful. Whole-bunch fermentation lends lift and silk. The style is bright, supple, and thoroughly drinkable.
The range spans easy Beaujolais-Villages, a fresh Chardonnay, and the floral crus of Fleurie and Chiroubles. Each captures the granite-driven charm of the region.
To pour a Dominique Morel wine is to taste Beaujolais at its most joyful. Bright, perfumed, and endlessly drinkable, these are wines made for good times.
