The wine
Bright lemon gold, with peach and white flowers. Smooth and rounded on the palate.
Saint-Véran surrounds Pouilly-Fuissé on both sides and was created as an appellation only in 1971, which is why it remains better value than its neighbour despite sharing the same limestone and often the same growers. It is the southernmost appellation in Burgundy proper. Domaine Perraud farm at La Roche Vineuse in the Mâconnais, certified organic, now run by Jean-Christophe Perraud.

Domaine Perraud
View all Domaine Perraud winesIn the rolling hills of the Mâconnais, in southern Burgundy, Domaine Perraud is a family estate with a quiet devotion to Chardonnay. Now farmed by successive generations, its vineyards lie on the limestone slopes that give the region its charm. The wines are honest and true to their place.
Perraud works with care in both vineyard and cellar, favouring restraint over show. Native yeasts and gentle handling let the fruit and minerality speak clearly. The style is fresh, precise, and beautifully drinkable.
The range runs from crisp Aligoté and Mâcon-Villages to the greater depth of Saint-Véran. Each bottling offers the quiet class of southern Burgundy at a genuinely welcoming price.
To pour a Perraud wine is to enjoy the Mâconnais at its most sincere. Bright, mineral, and food-friendly, these are whites that reward the everyday table.
