The wine
From a favoured granite parcel in the cru of Fleurie, Clos de l'Amandier is Hoppenot more structured expression of Gamay. Old vines, careful hands.
The wine is perfumed and silky. Violet and red cherry lead, backed by raspberry and a whisper of granite minerality, over fine, gentle tannins. Elegant and long on the finish.
A graceful red for the table. Serve lightly chilled with roast chicken, charcuterie, pork, and soft cheeses. A cru Beaujolais to take seriously.

Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot
View all Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot winesIn the granite hills of Fleurie, one of Beaujolais most celebrated crus, Grégoire Hoppenot has quickly made his mark. After years learning the trade elsewhere, he returned to craft Gamay of grace and detail. His domaine is young, but his ambition is clear.
Fleurie is known as the most floral and refined of the Beaujolais crus, and Hoppenot leans into that reputation. He farms attentively, harvests by hand, and vinifies with a light touch that preserves perfume and freshness. Whole-bunch fermentation lends lift and silk.
The wines are pure expressions of granite and Gamay. Bright red fruit, delicate florals, and a smooth, gently structured palate make them a joy to drink. They flatter the grape without ever overworking it.
Hoppenot represents the new confidence of Beaujolais. His Fleurie is elegant, honest, and quietly serious, a reminder of just how beautiful Gamay can be in the right hands.
