Domaine Desvignes Givry Blanc En Chenèves 2022

The wine
A beautifully refreshing Givry Blanc. Ripe citrus and stone fruit married with a subtle depth.
En Chenèves is a named lieu-dit. White Givry is a small part of the appellation, which is mostly red. Givry is one of the five villages of the Côte Chalonnaise, the slope running south of the Côte d Or on the same limestone, where the same grapes and methods produce wine at a fraction of the price. It was reputedly the favourite wine of Henri IV, a claim the village has never stopped making.

Domaine Desvignes
View all Domaine Desvignes winesDomaine Desvignes is a fine family estate in Givry, one of the best-value red-wine appellations of the Côte Chalonnaise in southern Burgundy. Farmed with care by the Desvignes family, it champions the elegant Pinot Noir of this underrated region. Givry is its heart and soul.
The domaine works Pinot Noir for its reds and a little Chardonnay for its whites, on the limestone and clay slopes of Givry. Careful, increasingly organic farming keeps the fruit pure. Each parcel, from village to premier cru, is vinified separately.
In the cellar, gentle winemaking and measured oak produce wines of freshness and finesse. The reds are fragrant, silky and true to Givry's charm, the white crisp and mineral. Elegance and drinkability guide the range.
From a village Givry to the premier cru Cuvée Ozymandias, Desvignes offers the Côte Chalonnaise at its finest. Fresh, elegant and keenly priced, these are wines for lovers of honest, affordable red Burgundy.
