Claude can still be found pottering around the cellar, but the estate's current form is down to his son Stephane and Stephane's wife Severine, who farm 50 hectares of HVE-certified sustainable vineyard in Anjou.
Chenin Blanc is the speciality, from crisp Val de Loire through the mineral austerity of Savennieres to the honeyed sweetness of Coteaux du Layon: three faces of one remarkable grape.
