The wine

A pale Loire rosé, 70 per cent Gamay with 30 per cent Cabernet Franc, from three hectares of certified organic vineyard in Touraine. Gamay gives the red-fruited lift and Cabernet Franc the structure and the faint leafy edge that keeps a Loire rosé from tasting sweet.

Domaine de La Brossette belongs to the Delaunay family, whose Touraine wines you may know from Domaine Joël Delaunay. The estate is certified organic and small, its three hectares planted only to Gamay and Cabernet Franc, from which it makes this rosé and a red; the organic Sauvignon Blanc that carries the same label is bought in by Thierry Delaunay from a neighbour in the Cher Valley. Touraine sits in the middle Loire around Tours, cool enough that its rosés stay pale and brisk rather than ripe.

The producer

In the Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine de La Brossette crafts fresh, honest wines from the region classic grapes. A family estate, it farms the clay, limestone, and sand soils that give Touraine its charm. The philosophy here is refreshingly straightforward.

Careful farming and gentle winemaking keep the focus on freshness and fruit. Sauvignon Blanc and Gamay are the mainstays, made for immediate, easy pleasure. Nothing is overworked, and the results are pure and bright.

The range spans crisp Sauvignon and juicy Gamay, each offering plenty of character at a genuinely welcoming price. These are wines built for the everyday table.

To pour a de La Brossette wine is to taste the Loire at its most joyful. Fresh, versatile, and endlessly drinkable, they are made for good times and good company.
