Domaine Corsin Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Aux Chailloux 2022
£44.25
The wine
Aux Chailloux is one of the twenty-two climats promoted to premier cru in 2020, the first new premiers crus created in Burgundy for decades.
Pouilly-Fuissé had no cru hierarchy at all until then, despite being the finest white appellation of the Mâconnais, and the promotion recognised sites growers had long treated as superior. Chailloux takes its name from the flinty stones of the vineyard. Domaine Corsin work at Davayé and Pouilly-Fuissé, the estate built up by the brothers Jean-Jacques and Gilles.

Domaine Corsin
View all Domaine Corsin winesDomaine Corsin is a respected family estate in the Mâconnais, the sunny southern reach of Burgundy around Fuissé and Davaé. Run by the Corsin family for generations, it has built a name for pure, well-priced white Burgundy. Chardonnay is its calling.
The domaine farms across the great Mâcon appellations, from Mâcon-Villages to Saint-Véran and premier cru Pouilly-Fuissé. The limestone slopes at the foot of the Roche de Solutré give the wines their cut and minerality. Careful farming keeps the fruit fresh and expressive.
In the cellar, classical winemaking with measured oak produces wines of freshness and depth. From crisp, unoaked Mâcon to richer, barrel-aged Pouilly-Fuissé, each cuvée is true to its origin. Balance and purity guide the range.
From an everyday Mâcon-Villages to premier cru Pouilly-Fuissé, Corsin offers the Mâconnais at its best. Fresh, mineral and keenly priced, these are wines that show why southern Burgundy is so loved.
