Devaux D Millésimé 2014

The wine
The vintage flagship of Devaux, a single-year blend of equal Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the fine 2014 harvest. Long lees ageing builds its complexity.
Aromas of citrus, white peach, brioche, almond and honey. The palate is refined and creamy, with mineral drive, layered flavours and a long, toasty finish. A Champagne of real class.
A wine for special occasions, superb as an aperitif or with fine seafood and cheeses. Serve well chilled.
The producer
Devaux
View all Devaux winesChampagne Devaux is a distinguished house based in the Côte des Bar, the southernmost and increasingly celebrated corner of Champagne. Founded in 1846 and now led by the Union Auboise, it draws on a wealth of grower vineyards in this Pinot Noir heartland. Its wines marry scale with a real sense of terroir.
The Côte des Bar, closer to Chablis than to Reims, is prized for its powerful, fruit-driven Pinot Noir grown on Kimmeridgian limestone. Devaux builds its blends around this rich base, adding Chardonnay for finesse. Long ageing on the lees is central to the house style.
In the cellar, Devaux is known for extended maturation, especially in its flagship D range, aged five years or more. This lees ageing gives the wines their depth, creaminess and toasty complexity. Precision and patience define every cuvée.
From the classic Grande Réserve to the refined, long-aged Cuvée D and vintage Millésimé, Devaux offers Champagne of real character and value. Rich, complex and beautifully made, these are wines for celebration and the table alike.
