Domaine des Bosquets Gigondas Hauts Lieux 2023

The wine
Deep garnet. A delicate nose dominated by violets, simmered cherries and allspice. Fresh on the palate, then developing weight.
Hauts Lieux draws on the higher parcels. Gigondas is Grenache-led with Syrah and Mourvedre, and altitude beneath the Dentelles is what keeps freshness in a southern Rhône appellation that can otherwise turn heavy. Julien Bréchet farms 26 hectares at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, the jagged limestone ridge above Gigondas, with vines up to a century old. The estate bottles several single sites separately rather than blending them.

Domaine des Bosquets
View all Domaine des Bosquets winesIn Gigondas, beneath the jagged peaks of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Domaine des Bosquets is one of the southern Rhône finest estates. Farmed by Julien Bréchet, it works a mosaic of high-altitude terroirs that give its wines rare freshness and precision. Gigondas rarely tastes this refined.
The domaine bottles individual parcels and grape varieties separately, a rare and revealing approach in the region. Careful, low-intervention winemaking captures the character of each site with real clarity. The style is pure, structured, and detailed.
The range climbs from a bright Côtes-du-Rhône to a suite of single-parcel Gigondas cuvées, each expressing a different grape or terroir. Together they map the appellation with quiet brilliance.
To pour a des Bosquets wine is to taste Gigondas at its most sophisticated. Fresh, mineral, and profound, these are southern Rhône reds for the connoisseur.
