The wine

Sauvignon Blanc from a small organic estate in Touraine, where the grape is grown on flint, clay and limestone rather than the Kimmeridgian marl of Sancerre further east.

Touraine sits in the middle Loire around Tours, west of Sancerre along the river, and it is where Loire Sauvignon Blanc becomes affordable. The soils are flint, clay and limestone rather than the Kimmeridgian marl of the east, giving a slightly softer, fruitier style. Organic certification in the Loire is a harder undertaking than in the south: the climate is damp, mildew pressure is real, and the margin for error in a wet year is small. Domaine de La Brossette is a small organic estate in Touraine, planted with Sauvignon Blanc alongside Gamay and Cabernet Franc.

The producer

In the Touraine, in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine de La Brossette crafts fresh, honest wines from the region classic grapes. A family estate, it farms the clay, limestone, and sand soils that give Touraine its charm. The philosophy here is refreshingly straightforward.

Careful farming and gentle winemaking keep the focus on freshness and fruit. Sauvignon Blanc and Gamay are the mainstays, made for immediate, easy pleasure. Nothing is overworked, and the results are pure and bright.

The range spans crisp Sauvignon and juicy Gamay, each offering plenty of character at a genuinely welcoming price. These are wines built for the everyday table.

To pour a de La Brossette wine is to taste the Loire at its most joyful. Fresh, versatile, and endlessly drinkable, they are made for good times and good company.
