David Moret Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2023
£141.45
The wine
A premier cru Meursault from Les Charmes, one of the village's finest and most charming sites. Pure Chardonnay aged in oak by a master of élevage.
Aromas of white peach, almond, honeysuckle and toast. The palate is opulent yet precise, with layered stone fruit, fine acidity and a long, mineral finish. Meursault at a higher level.
Superb with lobster, poulet de Bresse or aged Comté. Serve lightly chilled, and worth decanting.

View all David Moret winesDavid Moret is a respected négociant-éleveur based in Beaune, at the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Since establishing his own house, he has built a reputation for immaculate white Burgundy from the great villages of the Côte de Beaune. His name is a mark of purity and precision.
Working with carefully sourced grapes from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and beyond, Moret is above all a master of élevage, the art of ageing. The famed limestone soils of the Côte give his Chardonnays their cut and minerality. Only the finest parcels make the cut.
In the cellar, restraint and patience define the style. Wines are barrel-aged with a judicious touch of oak, always in service of freshness and terroir. The results are taut, mineral and beautifully balanced, from village wines to grand cru.
From an everyday Aligoté to the majestic Corton-Charlemagne, David Moret offers white Burgundy at its most refined. Precise, ageworthy and true to their origins, these are wines for lovers of the Côte d'Or.
