Cullen Amber Wilyabrup Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023
£25.45
The wine
An amber (skin-contact) wine from Cullen, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon left on their skins in the biodynamic cellar. An adventurous, textural white.
Aromas of orange peel, apricot, honey and herbs. The palate is textured and savoury, with gentle grip, dried-fruit flavours and a long, tangy finish. Distinctive and food-friendly.
Lovely with charcuterie, spiced dishes or grilled fish. Serve lightly chilled.
The producer
Cullen
View all Cullen winesCullen is a legendary family estate in Margaret River, Western Australia, founded by Kevin and Diana Cullen in 1971 and now led by their daughter Vanya. A pioneer of the region, it is celebrated for some of Australia's finest Cabernet and Chardonnay. Few names carry such prestige.
The estate is farmed biodynamically and is certified carbon-neutral, a leader in sustainable viticulture. Its Wilyabrup vineyards, on gravelly loam near the Indian Ocean, enjoy a maritime climate ideal for Bordeaux varieties. Meticulous, holistic farming shapes every wine.
In the cellar, precision and restraint bring out purity and finesse. The whites are taut and complex, the reds structured yet elegant, and even an amber wine shows the estate's adventurous spirit. Terroir and balance guide every decision.
From the flagship Diana Madeline Cabernet to characterful blends and an amber Semillon, Cullen offers Margaret River at its very best. Refined, ageworthy and profoundly expressive, these are among the greatest wines Australia produces.
