Château des Antonins Bordeaux Supérieur 2022
£11.75
The wine
A ripe, approachable Bordeaux Supérieur from the Entre-Deux-Mers, built around Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon for backbone. Grown on clay-limestone soils and gently aged to soften its structure.
Aromas of blackberry, plum and a touch of cedar lead to a supple, rounded palate. Ripe dark fruit is framed by fine tannins and a warm, savoury finish.
A natural match for roast lamb, grilled beef or a plate of hard cheeses. Serve at cool room temperature, decanting briefly if you like.

Château des Antonins
View all Château des Antonins winesChâteau des Antonins is a family estate in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers, the broad expanse of vineyard that unfolds between the Garonne and Dordogne rivers. Bordeaux has been made on these gentle slopes for generations, and the property carries that long tradition quietly forward. Its wines speak of a classic corner of the region.
The vineyard is planted to the grapes that define Bordeaux: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for the whites. Clay and limestone soils give the fruit both structure and freshness. Careful work through the growing season keeps yields measured and quality high.
In the cellar the approach is honest and unshowy, letting each vintage express itself with clarity. The whites are picked for their aromatic lift, the reds given gentle ageing to round their tannins. Nothing is overworked, and balance is the goal throughout.
The result is Bordeaux as it should be at this level: fresh, food-friendly, and true to place. These are wines of everyday pleasure and genuine character, made to be poured generously at the table.
