Charles Heidsieck Rosé Millésimé 2018
£110.75
The wine
In the glass, the 2018 rosé is an elegant, soft pink with a delicate bubble. The initial nose shows aromas of peony, pomegranate and subtle tea nuances. The palate is creamy and complex with notes of blood orange, raspberry and blackberry. The tannins are well structured and lead to a silky and long lasting finish.
Assembled from eleven Grand and Premier Crus: Chardonnay from Oger, Cuis, Chouilly and Vertus, all mainstays of the classic Charles Heidsieck blends, with Pinot Noir from Avenay, Tauxieres, Ambonnay, Verzy and Ay. Nine per cent of the blend was vinified as red wine to give the colour and the structure. After malolactic and blending, the bottles rested at around 10C for five years before disgorgement in 2024.

Charles Heidsieck
View all Charles Heidsieck winesCharles Heidsieck is one of Champagne's most revered houses, founded in 1851 by the charismatic Champagne Charlie who first brought the region's wines to America. Today it is celebrated above all for the depth and maturity of its Champagnes, built on a treasure of reserve wines aged in ancient Gallo-Roman chalk cellars beneath Reims. Few houses have such a distinctive signature.
That signature is richness and generosity, a mature, biscuity depth that sets the wines apart from the crowd. From the benchmark Brut Réserve to an elegant Blanc de Blancs and a gastronomic rosé, each is unmistakably Charles Heidsieck.
Complex, mature and beautifully made, these are Champagnes for lovers of real substance. They reward the table as much as the toast, and drinkers who prize depth over mere freshness.
Serve well chilled, as an aperitif or with richer dishes, and toast in real style.
