Causse du Théron Terrasse Cahors Malbec 2024
£16.95
The wine
Terrasse is Causse du Théron's approachable Cahors Malbec, grown on the alluvial terraces of the Lot in south-west France, the original home of the grape.
Deep purple in the glass, it offers ripe black plum, blackberry and a savoury, peppery note over supple tannins, finishing fresh and juicy. Proper Cahors Malbec at a friendly price.
Serve at cool room temperature, with grilled meats, cassoulet, roast lamb and hard cheese.

Causse du Théron
View all Causse du Théron winesIn the wild limestone country of Cahors, in south-west France, Causse du Théron makes Malbec as it was born to be. This is the original home of the grape, long before it ever travelled to Argentina, and the wines have a darkness and depth all their own. The high, stony causse gives them a savoury, mineral character rooted firmly in place.
Two cuvées show Cahors Malbec across its range, from the alluvial terraces to the higher limestone slopes. One is juicy and approachable, the other structured and age-worthy, but both are unmistakably of their origin.
Deep, savoury and authentic, these are Malbecs with a real sense of place and none of the international gloss. They speak of the south-west, of black fruit, pepper and stone.
Serve at cool room temperature, with the hearty food of the region, from cassoulet to roast and grilled meats.
