The wine

Deep ruby red, with a prominent nose of violets followed by red berries and white pepper. Incredibly fresh and juicy on the palate, with great acidity and good length.

Les Santenots is a curiosity of Burgundy geography: the vineyard lies within the commune of Meursault, but red wine made there is sold as Volnay premier cru, while white from the same ground is Meursault. Volnay gives the most perfumed and delicate reds of the Côte de Beaune, and that violet lift is its signature.
