Jean-Claude Boisset Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Planchots 2023
£40.95
The wine
Deep ruby red, with a highly expressive nose of red and black berries and ripe cherry mingled with sweet spice and a light woody note. Rich on the palate, with round, velvety tannins and a lingering finish.
The Savigny-lès-Beaune vineyards form a V shape either side of the Rhoin valley, and the aspect changes markedly from one arm to the other, which is why the commune covers so much stylistic ground. Les Planchots sits where the valley meets the plain. Hand harvested, sorted and gravity fed for a cool pre-fermentation maceration.
