The wine

Bright ruby, with an intense nose of cherries, raspberries, violets and clove. The palate is fleshy and smooth, with fine silky tannins and excellent length.

Gevrey-Chambertin is the largest commune on the Côte de Nuits and the one that gives the most structured, muscular Pinot Noir, with nine grand crus on its upper slope. Village Gevrey from a good source is one of the more reliable ways into that style. Hand harvested, sorted on the table and gravity fed for a cool pre-fermentation maceration.

The producer

Maison Jean-Claude Boisset stands at the heart of Burgundy, in the historic town of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Founded in 1961, it has grown into one of the region most respected names while keeping a meticulous eye for detail.

The house works like a grower, farming and selecting with obsessive care across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Low yields, gentle winemaking and a light touch with oak let each appellation speak in its own voice.

From humble Bourgogne to hallowed Grand Cru, the range is a tour of the finest terroirs of Burgundy. Precision, purity and transparency are the hallmarks throughout.

These are wines of real pedigree, crafted to reward both the curious and the collector. Burgundy, rendered with clarity and grace.
