Jean-Claude Boisset Chambolle-Musigny 2022
£79.75
The wine
Ruby, with a nose defined by blackberries, violets and a hint of clove. The palate has a soft mouthfeel, silky tannins and a vibrant acidity that lifts the complex flavours.
Chambolle-Musigny produces the most perfumed and delicate reds of the Côte de Nuits, a matter of thin soils over limestone rather than of winemaking. It is also one of the smallest communes, with just 97 hectares of village-level vines. Hand harvested and sorted, gravity fed into tank and given a cool pre-fermentation maceration.
