Jean-Claude Boisset Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2022
£176.45
The wine
Deep ruby, with a nose bursting with sour cherry and blackcurrant leaf alongside nutmeg and sandalwood. Concentrated and harmonious on the palate, with velvety tannins and a long, smooth finish.
Chambolle-Musigny is among the smallest and most fragmented communes on the Côte, with only 97 hectares at village level, 50 of premier cru and 25 of grand cru. Les Charmes is its best-known premier cru, and the name refers not to charm but to charme, the hornbeam that once grew here.
