Jean-Claude Boisset Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Ursulines 2024
£20.75
The wine
Les Ursulines is Jean-Claude Boisset regional Pinot Noir, blended from parcels across Burgundy with different soils, aspects and microclimates, which is what keeps it consistent from one vintage to the next.
The name comes from the house itself: the winery in Nuits-Saint-Georges occupies a former Ursuline convent, converted into a gravity-fed cellar. Grégory Patriat, who came from Domaine Leroy where he was head viticulturist, makes the wines here. Hand harvested and sorted, gravity fed into tank and given a cool pre-fermentation maceration.
