The wine
Bodegas Máximo makes modern, characterful Spanish reds that punch well above their price. The Tinto is one hundred per cent Tempranillo, grown at altitude on the Castilian plateau and aged for a few months in American oak.
Smooth and juicy, it shows ripe red cherry and plum wrapped in a gentle note of chocolate and spice. Approachable and food-friendly, it is made for weeknight suppers, from pasta and roast chicken to a simple plate of charcuterie.

View all Bodegas Máximo winesFounded in 2002, Bodegas Máximo has a clear purpose: to craft modern Spanish wines that deliver far more than their price suggests. Fruit is drawn from vineyards across Castilla y León and Castilla-La Mancha, planted high between 600 and 850 metres.
At altitude, the wide swing between warm days and cool nights slows ripening and locks in freshness, vibrant acidity and aromatic clarity. At the winery, careful temperature control and gentle handling protect that character from vine to glass.
The range is deliberately simple and honest: a crisp Viura Blanco and a smooth, oak-kissed Tempranillo Tinto, both sealed under screwcap to keep the fruit pristine. Everyday Spanish wines, done properly.
