Allegrini Grappa di Amarone della Valpolicella (50cl)

The wine
A digestif worthy of the estate, this grappa is distilled from the pomace left after Allegrini’s Amarone, capturing the spirit of those great dried-grape wines. Made chiefly from Corvina with Rondinella and a little Oseleta.
Smooth and aromatic, it carries warmth and depth, with notes of dried fruit, spice and a long, refined finish. A characterful close to a good meal.
Serve at room temperature in a small glass, alongside coffee or dark chocolate. Supplied in a 50cl bottle. 43% alcohol.

View all Allegrini winesFew names carry the weight in Valpolicella that Allegrini does. The family has farmed these hills above Verona since the sixteenth century, and from their home at Fumane they have helped define what great wine from the region can be. The modern estate, shaped by the visionary Giovanni Allegrini, set a standard that others still follow.
The vineyards lie in the heart of Valpolicella Classico, in the foothills of the Lessini mountains and within the cooling reach of Lake Garda. Across some 150 hectares of morainic and calcareous slopes, Allegrini farms a collection of named sites, each with its own character, alongside holdings in Lugana on the lake.
Allegrini built its reputation on the idea of the cru, the single vineyard given over to a single wine. La Poja, a pure Corvina grown on a chalk plateau, was the first of its kind; La Grola and the ingenious Palazzo della Torre followed. Above them all stands the Amarone, widely held to be the benchmark for the style, rich yet linear, powerful yet poised, and prized as much at the table as in the cellar.
Whether it is an easy-going Valpolicella, a textured Lugana or a profound Amarone, every Allegrini wine is estate-grown and shaped by the same blend of tradition and quiet innovation. This is Valpolicella at its most serious and most rewarding.
