Sunset Point

Sunset Point is a Zinfandel Blush made in a smooth, medium-dry style, and the producer describes it as the Las Vegas of the wine world: an unapologetic show-stopper that answers a need for simplicity and diversion.

The style has real history behind the theatre. White Zinfandel was created by accident at Sutter Home in 1975 when a fermentation stopped early, and it became the most popular wine in America. It also saved California's old Zinfandel plantings, which growers had been pulling up for lack of demand, and many of those hundred-year-old vines survive today because of it.

Zinfandel is genetically identical to Primitivo in Puglia and Kratoshija in Croatia, all three descending from the Croatian variety Tribidrag, a connection established by DNA analysis only in the early 2000s.
