Lani

Lani Wines is the solo venture of winemaker Alana McGettigan, who has made wine across Italy, France and her native New Zealand since 2002. Inspired by the aromatic, food friendly whites of northern Italy and France, she was drawn naturally to Gewürztraminer. The fruit comes from small parcels of quality Gewürztraminer grown by Alana's aunt and uncle in Marlborough. A fickle variety, it demands careful work each year to control yields and strike the right balance between flavour and ripeness. The result is a characterful, finely balanced Gewürztraminer, aromatic and expressive, with the texture and length to shine at the table. Perfumed, precise and full of personality, Lani's Gewürztraminer is a distinctive take on New Zealand white. It is as food friendly as it is charming. A lovely partner for aromatic and spiced dishes.
