Domaine Gardiés

Domaine Gardies sits at the foot of the Pyrenees in the village of Tautavel, and has been in the same family for eight generations. Jean Gardies took over from his father in the late 1990s and now works alongside his son Victor.

The 35-hectare estate spans two terraces of clay-limestone and black slate at Vingrau and Tautavel, two of the best villages in the Cotes du Roussillon, with a further 15 hectares at Mas Las Cabes on the Espira de l'Agly terroir bought in 1990. All of it is certified organic. Understanding the soils is the heart of the philosophy here, and the wines have a complexity and structure that sets them apart from the region's more obvious offerings.
