Founded in 1820, Albert Morot was originally one of the largest negociant houses in Burgundy. In 1880 Berthe Morot built the chateau in Creusotte Park, where the estate still sits today. Later generations wound down the negociant trade to concentrate on their own vineyards.
In 2000, Morot's great-great-nephew Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry took over, committed to sustainable farming, and the estate has been certified organic since 2015. Eight hectares span ten appellations, with a formidable collection of Beaune Premiers Crus: Teurons, Bressandes, Marconnets.
