Château du Gravillon is a small Saint-Émilion property named for the gravelly soils that give it its structure. Merlot dominates the planting, with a little Cabernet Sauvignon for backbone. The style is soft, fruit-forward and immediately likeable: Saint-Émilion for the dinner table rather than the auction room.
