The first members of the noble Stutt family came to France from Scotland in the fifteenth century, to support the future King Charles VII during the Hundred Years War. In 1586, by marriage, the family inherited Château de Tracy, and it remains family owned and farmed today.
The estate is among the most respected in Pouilly-Fumé, its Sauvignon Blanc grown on a mixture of flint and Kimmeridgian marl above the Loire. Four centuries in one family tends to concentrate the mind on doing things properly.
