Champagne Veuve Clicquot

In 1805, at twenty-seven, Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin was widowed and took over her husband's business at a time when almost no woman ran a company of any kind. She went on to invent the riddling table, which made clear Champagne possible, and created the first known blended rose.

The Yellow Label is one of the most recognisable bottles in the world, built on Pinot Noir for structure and body. La Grande Dame, the prestige cuvee, is named in her honour.
