Champagne Pol Roger

Pol Roger has been in Epernay since 1849 and remains family-owned. It was Winston Churchill's Champagne of choice, a devotion so complete that he named a racehorse Pol Roger; the house added a black border to its UK labels on his death, and in 1984 created the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill in his memory. The style is elegant and finely mousseux, the result of unusually deep, cold cellars that slow the second fermentation. Pol Roger has held a Royal Warrant since 1877.
