Bodega Lanzaga

Bodega Lanzaga is the Rioja home of Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza, founded in 1998 in the village of Lanciego, deep in Rioja Alavesa. Their mission is to rediscover the great Rioja of old: terroir-driven, made from organic old bush vines and traditional field blends of Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha and a host of native varieties.

Working without new oak, with native yeasts, concrete and old foudres, they build a Burgundian-style hierarchy: the everyday Corriente and young LZ, the flagship village wine Lanzaga, and a handful of rare single-vineyard cuvées from Lanciego and Labastida. Telmo led the campaign that won Rioja its village and single-vineyard labelling.

These are pure, honest, age-worthy wines with a profound sense of place, among the most admired in modern Rioja.
