Bertrand de Monceny is a traditional-method sparkling wine from the Loire, made from Chenin Blanc by the same technique used in Champagne: a second fermentation in bottle, lees ageing, riddling and disgorgement. The Loire has quietly become one of the best sources of value sparkling wine in France, and this is a case in point.
